I made this card for the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge. The photo really spoke to me for all kinds of reasons. Hydrangea flowers are a favorite of mine. They remind me of childhood, when we were kids playing in my grandmother’s backyard, where a few very loved hydrangea shrubs watched our games. Besides, I find those colors so appealing… even some dried petals add to the gorgeous composition!
For the background I used alcohol inks on yupo paper. They are so fun to play with. I don’t have mixatives, but used Distress stain antique bronze here and there, and it worked so well for the look I wanted (dried petals), although you can’t see it much in my pic. In fact, you can’t even see the scrumptious colors irl… think colors like seedless preserves, picked raspberry, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon… just because I don’t know the names of alcohol inks from memory :).
Stamped the sentiment with Stazon jet black and heat embossed images from the Floral Garden stamp set in vanilla white. Despite the busy background, I felt like adding a few embellishments :).
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for stopping by.
