Hi everyone!

I’ve been MIA for quite some time for several reasons, being the most recent an injured finger/hand. April is flying by and I don’t expect doing much crafting until the end of the month :(. Nevertheless, today I have something fun! It’s kind of a NBUS, a good one because it’s old, but I made this tag about a year ago (maybe two, not sure…), but never shared.

I purchased this die set having in mind making my own leather or fabric luggage tags, not exactly for cards or other projects, but the real ones, for when we travel.

However there were a few characteristics that I wasn’t entirely pleased with, namely the fact that someone’s name printed inside the tag would be visible to the world. It may not be a problem for many people, but I like discretion. So, I’ve put my thinking cap on and came out with the kind of tag I wanted :).

The thinking cap seemed not to be working in full, as I forgot taking a picture of the back :)… but I can tell you that it is a one solid piece. This is kind of a prototype, but I still made the details like if it was the finished product; I used leather from old jackets and a metal buckle. I just love the vintage look.

Please stay tuned as I will have a tutorial on how to alter something like this. Probably it won’t be before May…

I’m (obviously) submitting my project to Darnell’s 2nd Annual April Fool’s Boo-Boo Hop and NBUS Challenge #11.

This IS a fun and very creative use of NBUS, Cris! What a great idea to make your own luggage tags and then alter them to make them work even better! I can’t wait to see the tutorial! I have been wondering about you, so it’s lovely to see you post and, of course, I very much appreciate that you played in NBUS Challenge #11! I’m sorry for the Big Fat Boo Boo to your finger/hand and I hope you are fully recovered soon! Be careful out there!! Hugs, Darnell
