Good day everyone! Today we are celebrating the euphoria of “Carnaval”, or Carnival, which is a kind of holiday in my country, but not exactly because it’s optional. Tomorrow will be “quarta-feira de Cinzas”, or Ash Wednesday. In some places of Portugal the populations perform symbolic celebrations of burying Entrudo, or Shrovetide. This mix of pagan and religious ceremony will give place to Lent. “In the Catholic Church, the time of Lent runs from Ash Wednesday until the evening Mass of Holy Thursday inclusive, with which the Paschal Triduum is inaugurated. The week preceding Easter is called by the tradition of Holy Week” (Wikipedia).

And now let’s talk about cards. We usually call galaxy to every colorful and starry sky, but after a little search, I think that my background looks more like a nebula.

I used regular Gansai Tambi watercolors as well as Gansai Tambi Starry Colors for the first layers and then accentuated the colors by blending Distress inks for more dimension. After this, I splattered some water and white Ecoline watercolor, the same I used to paint inside the star. I wanted a vellum look for the star, without adhering any vellum… I’m pretty happy with the result. Embellished with some W&W sequins and other sequins, and popped up the die cut word Peace with white craft foam.

This qualifies for two W&W challenges, celebrating their 3rd Birthday.
