Maybe you have noticed my old/recent passion for mixed media. I call it old because I’ve always felt attracted by pastes, inks, texture, metal elements and all the goodness involved in making a mixed media project; I call it recent because I’ve started daring in this area in a semi regular basis during the last months. Still, I feel like I have a lot to explore and improve… so, I decided to place my mixed media posts under the generic name of OoCZ… and the title of project. These initials stand for “Out of Comfort Zone”. This means that if you’re not interested in this kind of work, you can easily identify my mixed media posts (and run away from them… :)). On the other hand, if you love this style, you might jump for joy when an OoCZ post appears :D. And today I have one of those posts… your choice.
This was inspired by two challenges with a similar theme: masculine projects. Not our most comfortable work, but challenging… let me tell you that my husband loved it :)!
I Googled an image of sky and mountains and then transferred to a piece of MDF using matte gel medium. I followed this tutorial: http://www.designmom.com/2014/06/wooden-postcards-with-image-transfer/. Love this technique!
The word WILD was made using those big copper staples that come in heavy weight cardboard boxes, and measure 3,5 cm (visible)… of course I had to store them for my mixed media work!
Scrapclub Kiev Challenge #146: Men’s Topic – I guess that it’s pretty obvious how I was inspired, as you can see in the mood board below – nature, wood, adventure, color scheme…
Scrapclub-kamchatka Blog – Mood board/Palette “Our favourite men” – We are to use a minimum of three required colors, I used color palette 1: two shades of blue, green and brown.
STAMPlorations February 2017 Mixed Media Challenge – Anything mixed media except a card is welcome. Use at least one stencil of any brand. I used two stencils (words and birds).
Thank you for stopping by.
