Hi paper crafters!

Although we are over a month away from Christmas, I feel like it’s looking a lot like Christmas already. What a good excuse to use and abuse of sparkle and shimmer, right? :). I’d love that you could see all the gorgeous shine in this card… not an easy task to do when photographing.

In fact, this card is ALL about shimmer. To the foreground I started with a piece of heavy weight watercolor paper and black Brushos, spattering first with water and then with red gold, champagne gold and white gold Gansai Tambi Starry Colors, while still wet. It provides an amazing effect, watching those sparkling particles “dancing” over the water… you should try it, it’s just stunning!

In another piece of heavy weight watercolor paper, I used the same Gansai Tambi Starry Colors to paint a festive sky, starting with the darkest on top to the lightest on bottom. After this I stamped many stars and a tree using Versamark ink with Ranger Gold Tinsel EP; used the same “recipe” to the sentiment. Then die cut two snow hills and covered them with Versamark ink and Judi Kins Iridescent Sparkle EP. Mounted everything with foam adhesive and added a little bit of white spatters for the snow. The deer were stamped in Versafine onyx black, but they let the shimmer in the background show through so, we have also sparkling deer :).

I’m entering these challenges:
