Hi everyone!

I have some good news! Remember The Heart Desires Challenge (THDC) #1? Yep, I was the lucky winner, so, as privilege for winners, I will be September Guest Designer… isn’t this a cool prize?

As a new challenge starts today, THDC #4, I will be posting my first of two posts. I made a card inspired by this yummy inspiration picture… and there is so much to start with in this gorgeous photo!

THD4

This is a very simple card. I stamped a bicycle from Stamperia in watercolor paper using Archival ink, and then used a few colors of Brushos for the “explosion” of flowers in the basket, and I just love how it turned out! There was a previous attempt in which I wasn’t happy with the result. Brushos, as other similar powders, I suppose, provide random results, but there is something we can control a bit: the amount of water that will allow color to spread. I prefer to use only a few spatters at first, using a brush, just enough to activate the powders, and then, if needed, add a little more water. Every time I used a spray, the result is much more “muddy”.

Let's Ride Away

To mimic the black and white stripes I decided to use my b & w washi tapes. The sentiment is from Simple Stories “DIY” 6” x 6” paper pad.

Have a nice day!

Thank you for stopping by.

OK, this one makes my heart go pitter patter. All the white. All the black. And that perfect explosion of color. You must have your Brushos well-trained!
