Don’t you just love the Mondo Magnolia? Probably the answer is yes, because this gorgeous flower is out of stock at EH online store. I love it, and I’ve just found another use for it: making 3D flowers… it’s just that in this case it looks more like a peony rather than a magnolia :). To create this flower I used 7 die cut pieces from the biggest die of the Mondo Magnolia, 6 pieces from the medium die, and a tiny peony that I’ve made a while back. I used water colored (with Distress inks) tissue paper for the biggest petals in slightly different shades, almost like an ombre effect, except for the tiny flower in the center which was made from crepe paper, also water colored.
With this card I’m entering the Essentials by Ellen August Pin-Sights Challenge.
I was inspired by the first picture on the top left corner, and center picture on the last row. I stamped a faded pattern in the background to create a shabby distressed look, and distressed one of the edges of the sentiment piece with the same purpose. Added a few pearls and that was it!
