“Saw it written and I saw it say

Pink moon is on its way…”

Today’s card is a tribute to Nick Drake, a very talented musician gone too soon. One of my favorite songs by Nick Drake is Pink Moon, so when I saw the inspiration picture and colors for the Altenew August 2016 Inspiration Challenge, I decided to use my fresh and new “To the Moon” stamp set.

I’ve started by stamping the moon with spun sugar, worn lipstick and festive berries Distress inks. The next step was heat embossing the moon with both clear and iridescent EP. Then I blended some pinks and black soot Distress inks in the background, and flicked a few droplets of water on top. While still wet, I brushed some perfect pearls to a wide area around the moon, you should see the beautiful shimmer… Added some splatters of white Ecoline watercolor and Gansai Tambi white gold starry colors. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and die cut using a SC banner, providing a more precise look.

With or without?

Which photo do you prefer, with or without tulip? I’m sure your inner CAS designer will prefer the “without” card, but I love to see the tulip side by side with the moon, so, as I’m the boss here… the “with” wins! 🙂
