Hi, lovely people!

I hope that you had a wonderful Easter with family and friends. Now that Easter is over, despite the rainy and cold days, Summer is quickly approaching. Are you already dreaming about turquoise crystalline waters, plenty of sun… and why not sitting around a campfire, playing guitar (or banjo) and singing songs all night long? Well, at my age, “all night long” might be “a tiny bit” shorter… let’s say about two hours or so 😊.

The last paragraph describes the kind of atmosphere that I thought of when I saw the beautiful inspiration board for Maja Design April challenge. Music, unpretentious style, a sense of freedom and respect for all simple things in life.

Isn’t it a cool piece of inspiration? I just had to play along, so I made an 18 x 24 cm mixed media canvas, using papers from the gorgeous Summertime collection by Maja Design.

These papers remind me so much of my mother and my childhood, when I read Anita books by Marcel Marlier. I loved them when I was a small child, mainly because of the stunning illustrations, but I believe that my mother loved them more than I did 😊.

A few close-ups

All patterned papers, including the stamped and shaped ones in the background, are from the same Summertime collection.

I’m also submitting this canvas to the SSS Monday Challenge – Going Around in Circles. It has been quite some time since I joined this challenge…

Thank you for stopping by. See you soon!

Ahh, Summer… for me it is definitely turquoise, the beautiful ocean (way too far away to visit regularly) and seahorses. We have been enjoying unseasonably warm weather here in England, it has been lovely.

Your canvas is stunning, I just love those beautiful ‘pops’ of turquoise against that stunning crackled background and the little banjo is such a lovely touch ! Hugs, Anne xx
